It'll be last, since I have other stuff to tell you first.
I'm so excited about our first subject! Last night's night church! It was sensational, at least in my opinion.
I went there about an hour before the actual event started, since I was part of the ceremony (not in a religious meaning tho, you'll find out later why, if you don't know already :P)
We watched the music group perform (and the real good singer from the porridge party - read yesterday's blog- was singing again! yay) and practiced our own performance as well.
It goes like this: The church is of the shape of a cross †. There were three groups, one of 4 and two of 3 people. I was in the first group, the one which was placed in front of the altar. The other two groups were placed on the left and the right sides (of the church). Then, a boy in my group shouts "WHO WILL WIN?!" and then our group starts to pursue an imaginary thing we all wanted badly, that desirable object being right above us. The other groups did the same as us. Then, music started silently and we froze. When the music was loud and discordant, we started to do a slow-motion run towards the middle of the church. We had to look angry, since we were competing for something. After we were in place, the cantor made this ... how could I explain it? Geez, played a glissando, and we had to fall to the floor dead! Sounds easy, but we had to stay without moving for about 10 minutes while a priest preached about competition society. Then, after he was done, the cantor started to play a light, happy melody, and we rose gracefully (or not xD) from the floor, helping each other and smiling, and walked to our places. Then the ceremony continued with praying and a song.
I had lots of fun, from the practice (thanks to a new acquaintance I have made in the drama class, she's so much fun to hang out with! :)) to the end.
Also, just before the ceremony was about to start, a really nice old friend of mine came to visit! And guess what? She had baked me some BROWNIES! I love brownies, and I love her, she's really talented at cooking (and everything else!), no matter how modest she tries to be.
After we started to head home, we met with my friends. They gave me xmas gifts, and I gave them the xmas cards I had written them... And then it was goodbye time :( Too bad I won't see them before NY! And I hope they'll keep on wanting to see me after it, since I have something to tell them...
My friend gave me a lift (it was like 20 meters, I laughed at this for a while) to my gran's where I was going to stay over night, since it was so late. Mom was too lazy to pick me up and I have to pay some extra night fee in the bus, even tho I have a monthly card!
Overall, a great great great great night! :) One of the best days ever, truly. Thanks to everybody who made my day, I really love you all <33> (I hate hearts! They totally mess up my HTML code, and then I have to go thru a heluva lot of trouble to fix it, so you better appreciate my hearts! :D)
Let's see what I've planned for today... Ahaa, let's talk about Bejeweled Blitz now!
I was supposed to write about it yesterday, but my blog got too full. I had to postpone it for today!
Blitz is a game in Facebook, but Bejeweled is its own game as well. To not make confusion, I'll tell you that I'm talking about the Facebook version. The one in which you have one minute to score as high as possible.
So let's start.
The point of Blitz is to score as many points possible in the timespan of one minute (repetitive much? xD). One minute is a REALLY short time. And a frustrating one, since it usually takes that one minute to start scoring good, but that's the trick. You need to learn how to be efficient.
I usually start by trying to make either a row of four or five (there's usually at least one of four at the start), and then try to make combos so that I'd get a multiplier. A bolded word, huh? Must be important! And yes it is. Multipliers multiply the score you get. First by two, then by three, and so on. So they're really important, since you want the MAXIMUM possible efficiency in the MINIMUM time possible. So they're helpful. Try to get at least a 2x before moving onto the next stage (but warning: do not leave the next stage completely out of stage 1! You can still score basically always over 100k with the next stage, but without multipliers it's impossible to get to the really elite scores).
'K, stage 2. Making moves efficiently. This means making moves fast. There's no time to think in Blitz, so you need to go mostly with your instinct. And the secret to good scores is to teach your instinct to be fast! If you make consecutive moves fast, you'll start growing a speed bonus. Oh-ouh. Another bolded word. The speed bonus can be up to +1000 points, which is a significant amount. Let alone, making moves fast make your speed bonus timer grow yellow! And when it's completely yellow, you enter to "Blazing speed". This will mean that every move you make will have the same effect as a bomb gem! Blazing speed is usually the phase in which you score big time, so by the time you get there you should have a high multiplier and boom, you'll be the #1 on your list!
You get multiplier gems by making a large cascade or by clearing lots of gems at a time. So you either need luck (cascades) or gem knowledge! If you make a shocking gem (by clearing same color gems as a L or a T) and detonate it, you'll most likely get a multiplier. Likewise, if you make a match of 5, you'll get a cube, which will take all the gems of one color out of the board. This'll guarantee you one multiplier, if you clear the right color, obviously.
Good luck with your blitzing ;)
I thought of talking about Christmas today, but since it's only the 22nd, I'll do my Christmas-special edition tomorrow!
Next on my list I've got a really lovely subject! Childhood friends! We all have them, you know, those with who you used to spend time when you were a little young rascal...
Take real good care of those relationships, cause they're the people who have known you for the longest time!
Of course, people change, and there might be incompatibilities, particularly if there's been a long phase of silence!
Nevertheless, you should try. You won't lose anything, but you may gain a friendship lasting a lifetime!
I'm stupid. Hmm, yeah. I forgot to bring the physics book to my friend, even tho her boyfriend needs it! Dammit I feel like an idiot! One thing that I should remember I forget...
I'm sorry :(
I'm so unreliable, no wonder no one ever trusts me... It's not like I don't try to remember stuff, but it's always the one thing you forget the one thing you should recall.
I saw today in the TV guide a really disturbing "documentary". I'm not going to write what it handles, because it would be too awkward. Go see for yourself. Today, at 10pm. You'll know what program I'm talking about if you compare the shows of the four principal channels :P
Why are games so annoying? My little brother is playing some silly game, and the sounds are annoying. Especially if you try to listen to good music :P
And he won't turn the sounds down... sigh. Guess I'm being a bit selfish, but... sigh.
An extra complaint add. I was planning to end my blog to the annoying game, but now happened something really complaintful!
My fonts messed up *le sigh* I don't know what happened. It probably happened because I pasted a word and it pasted the font of the pasteƩ word. Then I tried to make it the same as the others, but I couldn't find the font of my blog! In my own blog! Ridiculous! So now I had to copy past the whole text... All my effects disappeared with it, so I spent ten minutes fixing it :D
And more topics rain from clear skies. Should you buy your kids a Nintendo DS Light or a bobsleigh? IMO the answer is pretty obvious! Let them bobsleigh! It's fun, it's done outside... and with all the modern computers and Wiis and televisions and those, why buy yet another device that replaces imagination and reduces creativity?
Mom sold three old cars for 1 grand. I don't know what to think. I'm worried that the cars might be worth more than that, since they're old and stuff. Neither me or my mom know anything about cars, really, but 1 grand for three antique (trash :D) cars ... I don't know... whatever...
And last thing, I promise! (Thanks if you read it all xD)
What I wanted to say is that what we all bloggers love very, very much is... comments! So please, comment comment, if to say nothing more than "I read it"...
It's better than nothing :)
PS. The review tomorrow after all. Sorry :(
Since you asked to comment I decided to do so. And who I am? You probably know me better by my nick sammon.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I didn't read the Blitz part of it, there are only one or two FB games I play actively. I used to play lots but not so interested anymore of those.
Seems you had a nice ceremony in night church.
I totally agree one should by for young rascals a bobsleigh over a game console. It's almost ridicilous that even Finnish military forces are taking game consoles in use to encourage servicemen's exercising in their off duty time.
Which cars those were what your mom sold (brand, model and age)?
And I think I know what TV program you mean. Yep, those 4D documents are usually more or less disturbing. And I think this document is a re-run (aren't they all nowadays?). And no, I didn't watch it, I just remember seeing it on a tv guide before :)
Well, enough spouting before this gets longer than the blog post :P
Happy Holidays and Great New Year for You (who are reading this)!
Hi! I remember you, yeah... Probably haven't spoken in a long long time!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment, and it wouldn't matter even if it was longer than my blog! :D
All three of the cars are Fiats. One is Regata -85, the second Ritmo -86 and the third a 128 -73.
Don't know if that's the info you wanted :)
